Ah I love this shade so much, I had to share! I got this free with my £5 ebay code last week.
Not quite sure if I want to call this beige, grey or green.. Its a perfect combination of all three :)
I cant really say much about this nail polish, Models Own goes without saying that it just looks like perfection on the nail! So shiny and smooth and awesome! <3 thats all folks! I used 2 coats on the picture below! :)
I was waiting patiently for this to arrive. This is my first time trying glossy box and I thought It was pretty cool that it was the Harrods special box aswel. I was pleased with alot of the samples I got, but I spied that others got lipstick in their boxes which I REALLY wanted :( I did get a Lancome mascara though which I'm dead excited about. I did hope for some more makeup products but I'm still quite pleased with my samples. Here's what I got in my box.
This was the product I was most excited about, mainly because it's a luxury brand (for me anyway) and who doesn't use mascara! The brush is really nicely shaped aswell for easy appliance.
Before and after photos:
I love it because it's not too clumpy and heavy to wear but still goes on quite thick. It dries nice and crisp compared to other mascaras it that makes sense? Most mascaras would dry quite gooey and soft (even expensive ones) but this one is solid and hard (in a good way) which I really like, I've never had a mascara before with this sort of texture. I will use this alot :)
This isn't a product I've ever used before but im excited to give it ago, it's always something I see sitting around in peoples bathrooms but never bought myself. Smells nice aswel So I'm excited tho give it a go.
(I couldn't help but take photos of the bubbles, I love photographing bubbles :D)
This product was the one I was most buzzing about. Its such an expensive product and it felt good to hold a sample thats worth almost £25 in comparison to the full size. Can't say I'll ever do that again. I have been meaning to try an anti-aging product though so I can't wait to give it a go! I'm sure I'll be amazed but can't say I'll be forking out £127 anytime soon for the full size. Great sample though.
This smells so yummy! Reminds me of a Guess perfume I used to buy years ago. Quite egger to see if this works. Cant see me buying the full size product though at £40. I love getting luxury samples in the box but sometimes It'd be good to be able to afford the product.
Nice smell, it's like a musky/floral scent. It is really pretty and if someone bought me it'd definitely wear it. It's one that I don't see being super popular with the younger crowd, but it's very elegant and I wouldn't mind owning some. The bottle is really pretty as well.
I've got a freebie for you! All you have to do is pay £2.95 postage to UK addresses. Click on each of these products to bring you to the site. There's a lipstick and lipgloss set (£13) as well as an eyeshow and eye pencil set (£16) to choose from. You can even select from four different shades. You can only use one code per checkout.
Pro Longwear Lip Pencil shade Absolutely It £14.00
I'm really into purpley shades at the minute and I'm totally eying up this pigment powder. The shade is Fuchsia but it appears with a slight tint of purple to the pink and its not too bright and extravagant so this will be perfect for lips and cheeks.
Pigment shade Fuchsia £16.50
I love using a loose powder above my foundation to help it set and I'm simply dying to try this transparent powder by Mac. I've read really great reviews on it so I'm really keen to try it out.
Prime & Prep Transparent Finishing Powder £18.50
For the face I like blending liquid foundation with my finger but this is the perfect brush for powder and blush, it's a nice style for shaping cheek bones.
Large Angled Contour Brush £26.00
And finally, I couldn't NOT have a nail polish on here, I'd have them all if I cold but at the minute this is my favourite shade.
Hi this time I'm going to do a nail tutorial. I call this glitter gradients and I have seen a few different people do a similar thing. It looks great when experimented with loads of different colours and shades but today I'm using No.7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in shade 'Lucky Lilac 50' and for the glitter I'm using No.7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in shade 'Glitterball' which both cost £7.00 from Boots.
1. First start with the base colour. For best results do three coats leaving to dry in-between.
(You can choose any colour for your base. Bright or pale colours work best I think.)
Now to get the gradient of glitter gradient:
2. Using the glitter polish start from 3/4 up your nail and work your way down towards the tip.
repeat this for every finger.
3. This is the most important bit! Always leave to dry COMPLETELY between coats, there is going to be ALOT of coats of glitter and if you don't let it dry between coats it never will.
4. Once dry do the same, starting halfway down the nail this time instead, working towards the tip.
5. Once dry paint just the bottom quarter of the nail with glitter.
6. Repeat step 5 as much as necessary until you get complete coverage at the tip of the nail.
When done right and left to dry between coats this can look really pretty and the gradient gives a really nice effect. It gives a bit of diversity to just covering the whole nail once with glitter. If I try this with other colours I will post here to show you. It can take around 30-45mins to complete but you can do things between coats to pass the time as long as your careful not to smudge. (I always chat on Facebook while my nails are drying :p).
Wow great value! I could spend all day at MUA's 'Everything £1' stand at Superdrug! Would you believe that I got all this lot for £8?
I've bought a few things from the range in the past but this is a first time for the nail polishes and the pressed powder. The product from left to right are:
Lipstick in shade 31
Nail polish in shade 15
Nail polish in shade 4
Nail polish in shade 23
Nail polish in shade 3
Nail polish in shade16
Pressed powder in shade 1
Eyebrow pencil in Brunette
The pressed powder is great for day to day wear, quite good coverage but still quite light. Not something I'd wear to last a night out but none the less it's a great day time wear for £1! And the shade is perfect for pale skin like mine.
The brow pencil is my favourite out of everything I bought. I love me a brow pencil :) and this is such a perfect shade of brunette, not too light and not too dark. It stays on all night too.
The nail polishes I didn't expect much from to be honest, because I'm sure you all know that you have to pay for a polish to last. I was pleasantly surprised though, with 2-3 coats it stays completely chip free for at least two days and the colours are lovely and vibrant! I'll be using them in a post later on so check that out.
The lipstick I bought because I lost my favourite one and this was very close to the shade I was looking for. This is a beautiful colour for a lipstick and I will wear it quite alot but I am still looking for something slightly more orange red. For £1 this was a complete bargain though and does have a long lasting colour especially when used with Lipcote (£3.19).
This full range isn't available online, but they do have a few of the lip shades and some of their other products that range up to £3. Visit in-store Superdrug to make use of the 'Everything £1' stand.
So yesterday it was announced that the 'Big Skincare Mystery' was actually Clearasil!
I was surprised by this because it's a reasonably priced brand with the wash/mask being around £4.99. Because I loved the sample so much I went out and purchased some :) I used my sample as a mask rather than a wash, I was very impressed with how soft and smooth my skin felt after, never had that result from a mask before but I'm not ecstatic about the idea of it as a wash. Using it as a wash is good yeah, it smells nice and makes your skin clean but it's not spectacular, it doesn't give the results of what it does when used as a mask. It says on the bottle to use as a mask up to 3 times a week so I'm going to do that and see if my skin changes. I don't have bad skin so I don't usually use a spot treatment brand but i think this range is advertised more at getting healthy looking skin rather than a spot treatment so hopefully my face will look more radiant as a result. It smells great also and leaves your skin smelling great.
There are other products in the range, like facial scrub and cleansing wipes also, and if you go to Boots this week they have 3 for 2 on skincare products, so you could get a free bottle with your other purchases. For the bargain hunters, Superdrug also have an introductory offer of £3.49 for limited time. :)
